From June 2012 for one year Jain McKay will be spending one day a month at the Village hub in Caldmore, Walsall. During this time she will be researching if an artist can have a positive effect on a community? After working in traditional community arts for many years this project will be community arts with a difference. Artist as scientist, anthropologist, documenter and motivator. All with no pre-determined outcome.
This project has is own blog dedicated to the work being produced in Caldmore, Walsall.

Update 15th April 2013, Just a month now until the exhibition starts. The images are in the final stages and Karma Times is ready for printing. The project has generated some really interesting images that document life in this small community that is rich with cultural life, misunderstandings, assumptions and activity. As a model of working it is one that is transferable to other communities and I would love to repeat the process in a totally opposite village, that could be my next project.
