I’m currently working on a project called ‘ The Boy who Cried Wolf’ It will be an exhibition of new work that looks at the phenomena of lying. First inspired by the old fable “ The Boy who cried Wolf” in which people are warned against the down falls of lying, are we now living in an age where lying has not only become acceptable but is almost compulsory in order for our modern day society to function in it’s present form? The exhibition includes examples from politics, Clinton, Bush, Cameron, to multinational companies like BP.
The work itself uses materials in a way that experiments with mess and line, texture and words. Mixing printing, drawing and painting together to create a layered effect which mirrors that of the layers of lies that are told in order to not get found out.
How far from our natural state have we become in order to have to live in a web of deception of this magnitude and will it all come tumbling down?
