Syria

Yesterday, the 3rd December 2015 was a black day. The Government who I had believed were there to represent the people in the constituencies, voted to bomb Syria. Anything from 75% to 89% of the country, depending on which poll you believe, don’t want this. One hour after the vote they proceeded to drop the bombs. They obviously had this pre-planned. They were counting on winning.

This small painting represents my reaction to this situation and the utter despair I feel at having to be part of humanity.

Sky Arts Portrait artist of the year 2019 Reject letter.

Dear Artist

Thank you for your application to Portrait Artist of the Year 2019.
We have received even more applications this year. The judges have now examined every single submission, and have been more impressed than ever with the standard of the artwork. As always, their job whittling these down to a shortlist of just 72 artists to take part in 8 heats has not been an easy one, but on this occasion we regret to inform you that your application has not been successful.
Due to increasing popularity with the public it has been necessary this year to ticket the heats at the Wallace Collection in London and all the sessions are now fully booked. If you are not attending the heats we sincerely hope you will tune in to watch the new series when it transmits on Sky Arts in January 2019, and also be inspired to enter again next year.

Don’t forget the deadline for Landscape Artist of the Year 2018 is 11th May, so there is still time to submit your application!
We hugely appreciate the time and…

How to be feminine in an AI Universe

Artificial intelligence will come to sentient thought just as gender role models disintegrate. How will robots understand the feminine aspect when they are born into a world transgressing stereo typical male and female roles? The feminine aspect is nurturing and giving, it has Empathy, Affinity, Compassion. What will happen to these qualities? Will we live in a utopia where everyone nurtures the Male and Female aspects? Or will we live in a dystopia where the feminine is outlawed because it does not promote profit and power?
This exhibition will explore these issues and more. This body of work does not have a venue yet. If you would be interested in showing it please get in touch.

My Redbubble shop

As an artist Redbubble is a great place to see your artworks transformed in to products, I particularly like the clothing. Seeing a painting transformed into a dress is really exciting. I might start just wearing clothes that I have designed.

My digital designs look really good as dresses.
Please have a look, if you are an artist I recommend you think about adding your own designs.
